The Planning Department is taking a fresh approach to neighborhood planning. We'd like to involve you as we work together to make your neighborhood the best place it can be.
Change is happening in San Francisco and its neighborhoods. To respond, the Planning Department established the Better Neighborhoods 2002 program and is preparing the first three neighborhood plans intended to help make San Francisco's urban neighborhoods the best places they can be for those who live in them. The Better Neighborhoods program embraces the benefits of change to build more balanced and livable places in San Francisco.
The program is two-tiered. Citywide, it aims to encourage housing where it makes sense and to strengthen neighborhoods. Locally, the program uses intensive community-based planning to refine citywide goals to the needs of the neighborhood. Above all, the program builds on the positive aspects of San Francisco's quality as an urban place.
We've reached a pivotal point. We encourage you to get involved and participate as we review and refine the draft plans. Click your neighborhood link below for details. Your views and input are critical to our success.
