Walk Friendly Community Award

Walk Friendly Communities is a national recognition program developed to encourage towns and cities across the U.S. to establish or recommit to a high priority for supporting safer walking environments.  According to the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center,  San Francisco is designated as a Gold-level community due to the city's outstanding planning practices, community pedestrian events, and focus on providing a pedestrian friendly environment.
